dodoAI Inc. (hereinafter referred to as "the Company") establishes this Privacy Policy (hereinafter referred to as "this Policy") regarding the handling of users' personal information in the services provided on this website (hereinafter referred to as "the Service").

Personal Information

"Personal Information" means "personal information" as defined under the Act on the Protection of Personal Information. It refers to information about a living individual that can identify a specific individual by name, date of birth, address, telephone number, contact information, or other descriptions contained in such information. It also includes information concerning a person's appearance, fingerprints, voiceprints, and information that can identify an individual from the insured person's number on a health insurance card (personal identification information).

How We Collect Personal Information

The Company may ask users for personal information such as name, date of birth, address, telephone number, email address, bank account number, credit card number, and driver's license number when users register for the Service. The Company may also collect users' transaction history and payment-related information, including personal information, from business partners (including information providers, advertisers, and ad distributors; hereinafter referred to as "Partners").

Purpose of Collection and Use of Personal Information

The purposes for which the Company collects and uses personal information are as follows:

  • To provide and operate the Company's services
  • To respond to inquiries from users (including identity verification)
  • To send emails regarding new features, updates, campaigns, and other services provided by the Company
  • To provide necessary communications such as maintenance notices and important announcements
  • To identify users who violate the Terms of Service or attempt to use the Service for fraudulent or improper purposes, and to refuse such users' use of the Service
  • To allow users to view, change, or delete their registered information, and to check their usage status
  • To bill users of paid services
  • For purposes related to the above

Change of Purpose of Use

The Company shall only change the purpose of use of personal information when it is reasonably deemed to be substantially related to the purpose prior to the change.

If the purpose of use is changed, the Company will notify users of the changed purpose of use in the manner prescribed by the Company, or will announce it by posting on this website.

Provision of Personal Information to Third Parties

Except in the cases listed below, the Company will not provide personal information to third parties without obtaining the prior consent of the individual concerned, unless permitted under the Act on the Protection of Personal Information or other applicable laws and regulations:

  • Where necessary to protect a person's life, body, or property, and where it is difficult to obtain the individual's consent
  • Where particularly necessary for improving public health or promoting the sound development of children, and where it is difficult to obtain the individual's consent
  • Where it is necessary to cooperate with a national government agency, a local government, or an entity entrusted by either in executing affairs prescribed by laws and regulations, and where obtaining the individual's consent would be likely to impede the execution of such affairs
  • Where the Company has notified or announced the following matters in advance and filed a notification with the Personal Information Protection Commission:
    • A statement that third-party provision is included in the purpose of use
    • The items of data to be provided to third parties
    • The means or method of provision to third parties
    • The discontinuation of the provision of personal information to third parties upon the individual's request
    • The method for accepting requests from the individual

Notwithstanding the preceding paragraph, the recipient of information shall not be deemed a third party in the following cases:

  • Where the Company entrusts the handling of personal information within the scope necessary to achieve the purpose of use
  • Where personal information is provided in connection with the succession of business due to a merger or other reasons
  • Where personal information is used jointly with specific parties, and the Company has notified the individual in advance, or made readily available to the individual, of that fact, the items of personal information to be jointly used, the scope of the parties jointly using it, the purpose of use by such parties, and the name or title of the person responsible for managing the personal information

Disclosure of Personal Information

When the Company receives a request from an individual to disclose their personal information, the Company will disclose it to the individual without delay. However, if any of the following applies, the Company may decide not to disclose all or part of the information, and if it decides not to disclose the information, it will notify the individual of that decision without delay. Please note that a fee of ¥1,000 will be charged for each request for disclosure of personal information.

  • Where disclosure is likely to harm the life, body, property, or other rights or interests of the individual or a third party
  • Where disclosure is likely to significantly impede the proper conduct of the Company's business
  • Where disclosure would violate other laws and regulations

Correction and Deletion of Personal Information

"Personal Information" means "personal information" as defined under the Act on the Protection of Personal Information. Suspension of Use of Personal Information

If the Company receives a request from an individual to suspend or delete the use of their personal information (hereinafter referred to as "Suspension of Use, etc.") on the grounds that the personal information is being handled beyond the scope of the purpose of use, or that it was obtained through improper means, the Company will conduct the necessary investigation without delay.

If, as a result of the investigation described in the preceding paragraph, the Company determines that it is necessary to comply with the request, it will carry out the Suspension of Use, etc. of the relevant personal information without delay.

If the Company carries out the Suspension of Use, etc. based on the preceding paragraph, or decides not to carry out the Suspension of Use, etc., it will notify the individual of that fact without delay.

Notwithstanding the preceding two paragraphs, where the Suspension of Use, etc. would require substantial cost or is otherwise difficult to carry out, and where the Company is able to take alternative measures necessary to protect the rights and interests of the individual, the Company will take such alternative measures instead.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

Except as otherwise separately determined by the Company, the revised Privacy Policy shall take effect from the time it is posted on this website.
